The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has concluded plans for the mock deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS for the conduct of June 18th election in Ekiti State.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu stated this at the weekend while giving an update on the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, he said: “As you are aware, it ends next month June 30, 2022. Both the online pre-registration as well as the physical registration at designated centres are taking place simultaneously.
The mock exercise, which will be launched today, is part of measures to test-run logistics requirement for hitch free governorship election.
The INEC Chairman said the mock deployment will take place in Irepeju-Ifelodu in Ekiti Central, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti-north and Ikere, in Ekiti-South Senatorial District.
Professor Yakubu, who is expected to depart Ekiti State on Thursday, will meet traditional rulers, critical stakeholders and the media, as well as inspect the commissions offices in the state to determine the level of preparedness.
