Theatre Commander Commends Retired Senior Medical Officer Colonel Omoruyi For Professional Conduct

The Theatre Commander Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa has commended the outgoing Commander 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital Colonel Joehness Omoruyi for his professional conduct and service to humanity in handling medical emergencies in the theatre and his contribution to the Nigerian Army Medical Corps.

The Theatre Commander represented by the Deputy Theatre Commander Major General Ibrahim Jallo gave the commendation on Thursday, 17 March 2022 at the Military Command and Control Centre ( MCCC) during the Send-Off Ceremony organised in honour of Colonel Omoruyi, who is proceeding on voluntary retirement having served the Nigerian Army for 21 years.

According to the Deputy Theatre Commander, Colonel Omoruyi is a Senior Officer. They have contributed a lot in the North East Operation by rendering medical services to personnel and has saved many lives while performing their duties. 

General Ibrahim further averred that the services rendered by Colonel Omoruyi in the Nigerian Army and the North East Theatre of operation would never be forgotten. He reiterated that, as Colonel Omoruyi is proceeding on voluntary retirement, the theatre will surely miss his service and therefore prayed for a competent replacement to fill the vacuum to ensure the standard set by the seasoned medical officer is maintained and improved upon.

While enumerating the capabilities and achievements of Colonel Omoruyi, General Jallo bid him farewell and greater successes in his future engagements.  

In the same vein, General Ibrahim also commended the Liaison Officer from the Niger Republic for having the privilege to have served his country under the capacity of Liaison Officer in the theatre of OPHK. He appreciated the outgoing Liaison Officer for his good conduct and contribution towards the successes recorded in Operation HADIN KAI. He used the avenue to, on behalf of the Theatre Commander, welcome his successor Commandant Mahaman Djido Mausa to Theatre Command Headquarters.

In goodwill messages by Components Commanders and Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Theatre Command, they described Colonel Omoruyi as a true professional and a complete gentleman.

During the vote of thanks, Colonel Omoruyi, on behalf of himself and the Outgoing Niger Republic Liaison Officer, thanked the Almighty God for granting him the grace to have served the Nigerian Army and contributing his quota in the development of his father's land, Nigeria. He further expressed appreciation to the Theatre Commander Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa for his support to the Medical Service of the Command and for always being there to render all necessary assistance required in the medical unit.

Dignitaries who were present during the event include Component Commanders OPHK, Chief of Staff Theatre Command and Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Theatre Command.

The highlight of the occasion was the delivery of goodwill messages by Senior Officers of Theatre Command, presentation of plaques, Vote of thanks and group photograph.
