Jigawa Gov't Applauds Army on Anti-banditry Operations

Troops of the Nigerian Army has been praised for their sacrifices and commitment in tackling banditry and other sundry crimes in Jigawa State.

Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu made this known in a statement on Friday.

The Governor of Jigawa State Muhammed Badaru Abubakar gave the commendation on Friday when he paid host to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya.

The Army Chief was on a working and operational tour of formations and units in North west.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mallam Umar Namadi described the visit as a an indication of the army's commitment to deal with banditry and other forms of criminalities in the region. 

He assured that the Jigawa state government and its people will continue to partner with Army and other security agencies to restore normalcy in the state and the region as a whole.

In the same vein, the Emir of Dutse, Dr. Nuhu Sanusi, on behalf of the Emirate Council of Dutse commended the troops and other security agencies for ensuring peace and stability in the state. 

The royal father stated this when the COAS visited him in his palace on Friday to pay obeisance and solicit the support of the traditional ruler.

The Emir intimated the COAS of the "Justice for All Programme" initiated by the Emirate, which he noted, will complement the peace-building effort of the Nigerian Army.

Speaking, the COAS restated the call for the support and cooperation of the government and people of the state in the fight against banditry and other criminalities.

The COAS expressed gratitude to the state government for providing the land, where the Army is currently building a barracks to further enhance its presence and operations in the state.
