The Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists ISWAP and Boko Haram fighters in their numbers attacked a Military base in Marte, a location close to the shores of Lake Chad, Borno State, killing no fewer that 10 soldiers, Spye News can authoritatively report.
Terrorists fighters had on Monday night stormed Komdi village in the Damboa LGA of Borno, looted several shops and setting houses ablaze.
Military intelligence say an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into a military post in Marte, killing ten troops with the insurgents also capturing several Military vehicles.
It was learnt that the the insurgents invaded the community around 5pm on motorcycles shooting sporadically and also razed down the facility.
This attack is coming less than two months after troops foiled a Boko Haram attack in Damboa town, Damboa LGA of Borno.
Recall, on October 30, the terrorists fighters stormed Damboa Local Government Area of Borno state, killing two Mobile Policemen (Mopol) and setting their head office located in the town ablaze with three operational vehicles.
The insurgents' invasion into Damboa had created tension and pandemonium amongst residents but the troops engaged them in a heavy gun battle, forcing them to retreat.
The attack was met with heavy resistance by the mobile police who engaged the insurgents in a gun battle. The assailants, who stormed the community in eight gun trucks, overpowered the security personnel and killed two of them in the ensuing shootout.
