No fewer than 190 insurgents have surrendered to the Nigerian Army in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday.
Reliable military sources confirmed among those that surrendered to the Nigerian soldiers include sect top fighters, foot-soldiers, their wives and children.
The surrendered terrorists pleaded with Nigerians to forgive them and gave assurances that they are no longer interested in activities concerning the dreaded sect.
The Military has earlier stated that over 1000 terrorists and their families have laid down their weapons and surrendered in the past two weeks following renewed offensive against insurgency in the North.
However, many Nigerians have condemned their reintegration to call for their urgent prosecution.
