3 Things The Presence Of Atiku, Jonathan, And FFK At Buhari Son's Wedding Should Tell Nigerians About Political Leaders

President Muhammadu Buhari's son, Yusuf has tied the knot with his 20-year old lover, Zahra Ado Bayero, the daughter of Emir of Bichi.

The royal wedding which was held on Friday was a punctuation of colour, glamour and grandeur. From the arrival of classy guests to the impressive aura that defined the venue, everything bore the signature of power, influence and affluence.

Of course, it could not have been otherwise considering the calibre of people involved in the superlative celebration of love. We are talking about the only son of sitting president of giant of Africa who is getting married to the daughter of an influential Emir in Kano State.
What really worthy of note in the ceremony however is the presence of those that really matter in the scheme of political narrative of the country. I mean those who are moving and shaking the society when it comes to decision making and dictating the direction of which over 200 millions Nigerians will follow in the next couple of days.

Considering the present political atmosphere of the country, one would have expected the likes of Atiku Abubabakar, Goodluck Jonathan and other political bigwigs with different party affiliation to simply wish the president the best of luck through a text message or phone call without showing their faces.

But they were physically present and were obviously happy to be a part of the unusual gathering. This moves however is a great message to the entire Nigerians and these are three things that need to be taken from the whole scenario.

1. For those who are dying for politicians, they need to take note from now on that these people know themselves and have their places where they relate whenever the occassion calls for it.

When it is election time, they know how to create a situation that will make their blind followers to rise against themselves in supporting their political leaders. But in an occasion like this, their followers do not deserve to be there. They are irrelevant. This should be a big lesson.

2. The gathering is also a pointer to the fact that they simply use Nigerians to achieve their ambitions and once the deed is done, they dump them and move on. No matter how many stones are thrown during the election, it will never break their relationships.

These guys have been coming for a long time and whatever political differences going on between them is just for a mere politics. It does not define their relationship. When it is time for them to come together, they know how to go about it; whereas, many Nigerians will have either killed, maimed themselves while supporting them or create a perpetual enmity among themselves.

There is a lesson to learn here.

3. The third lesson to be learnt from this scenario is the fact that these people are always united irrespective of their political affiliations.

Here are PDP leaders at the wedding of president Buhari's Son, an APC leader. As at yesterday, Alhaji Atiku Abubabakar was still bashing the government of president Buhari and the APC for mismanaging the country. Today, they are smiling, dinning and unwinding together at a wedding.

Nigerians leaders are united. It is only the followers and the people that are disunited in the name of blind following.
This should be a lesson for all to learn.
Congratulations to president Buhari and the entire first family on the wedding of their only son, Yusuf.
