A female lecturer at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi Christie Agbulu has been killed by her abductors over N150,000, Daily post reports.
The lecturer was said to have been kidnapped on November 26, in Lokoja, Kogi state cpital city.
Confirming Agbulu’s death yesterday, the acting chairperson if the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi chapter, Bengba Anjembe said her body was found in a decomposing state.
Her kidnappers had earlier used her phone to demand a N150,000 ransom.
Also, ASUU had in a statement called on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Nigerian police to swing into action on the matter.
The University’s union chapter through its Secretary Ishaq Eneji, said it was dissatisfied with the manner security agencies were handling her abduction.
Anjembe said the body which was discovered by security operatives in the state have been handed over to Agbulu’s family for funeral.
He further prayed for the repose of her soul while asking God to grant her family and the university the fortitude to bear the loss.
