President Buhari approves timetable for Nigeria's 2017 budget

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the timetable
for Nigeria’s 2017 budget following the Federal Executive
Council (FEC) meeting held today .

This was announced by the official Aso Rock Twitter
account on Wednesday, April 20.
However, it’s unclear whether the controversy surrounding
the 2016 budget was resolved.
Budget Minister: On the 2016 budget we’re still talking.
On the 2017 budget we’re making plans to ensure it is

Geoffrey Onyeama, the minister of budget and national
planning, said the presidency plans to ensure that the
2016 budget is passed before the end of the year.
Recall that while the timetable for Nigeria’s 2017 budget
was approved, the president is yet to give his assent to
the 2016 appropriation bill.
Yesterday Buhari received Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
and minister of budget and national planning, Senator Udo
Udo Udoma at the state house to discuss the 2016
budget .
