The Association of Nigerian Theatre Art Practitioners {ANTP} President, Comrade Victor Asaolu has dragged his loyalists to court over the extension of his 4 year tenure.
We told you that, the President of the body, Victor Asaolu recently dragged the members of the association to court for a fresh ruling on his Presidential bid and the hearing is scheduled for tomorrow 15th April, 2015 at the Ejigbo magistrate court in osun state.
Though the president, Comrade Victor Ashaolu, has revealed that he was not fighting anybody and that no member of the association offended him, including its elders.
On the other hand, some elders in the association, Oyewole Olowomojuore, a.k.a Baba Gebu, Jimoh Aliu, also known as Aworo, Veteran actor, Lere Paimo, better known as Eda Onile Ola and others are joining Comrade Victor Asaolu in court tomorrow.
Victor Asaolu however, stated that, he dragged whoever challenging his 4years tenure to court because after a meeting of the ANTP fourth Quadrennial delegates conference which took place
at the Orange Hotels, Bolorunduro, Ilesa, Osun State on Friday, July 11, 2014, it was
resolved and approved that the period spent on the court case(s), almost three
and half years, should be regarded as crises and transition period, hence all
officers of the association should be regarded just starting the first term in
office from local government chapters to the national level. The new
regime will not end in July 2018''.
The veteran stage actor said he will ensure court ruling favour him and his executive''.
He said, the elders reportedly agreed with the
decisions regarding the litigation period as crises and transition period,
thereby giving the elected officers the opportunity to complete their term in
July 2018.
