An artist and film director, Ernest Obi, has called on the Nigeria Copyright Commission (NCC) to redouble its efforts in the fight against piracy.
Obi, who made the call on Thursday in Enugu expressed worry at the increasing rate of piracy across the country.

Obi, who is also a member of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) expressed concern that the NCC had not fought piracy headlong, saying several pirates were still roaming the streets of many states.
He urged the federal government to adequately fund the commission and give it the legal backing to fight the menace of pirates.
``There are no stringent laws backing the NCC in the fight against piracy. How many offenders have they being able to prosecute and jail?
``Pirates are so comfortable; they make so much money that if you single handedly attempt to fight them, they will kill you.
Obi, who is shooting a movie in Enugu, pledged to support the NCC in its fight against piracy as the commission could not do it alone.
