Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers state has
approved the appointment of Justice A I Iyayi-Lamikanra
as the acting judge of the state.
We gathered that the new judge will succeed Justice
Daisy Okocha, who is bowing out tomorrow, Friday
January 15, 2016.
A statement issued by Simeon Nwakaudu, the special
assistant to the Rivers state governor on electronic media,
revealed that the new appointee would be sworn in by
Wike on Friday at the executive council chambers of the
government house, Port Harcourt by 8am.
Meanwhile, eight Permanent Secretaries have dragged the
Rivers st ate government to the National Industrial Court
(NIC), over their compulsory retirement from the state civil
service.
