Soldiers in Kwara state did an incredible act on Sunday, October 11 when they entered a filling station and gave fuel to people on queue for free.
According to Daily Trust, some filling stations in the state capital, Ilorin had been under lock due to fuel scarcity since Friday, October 9.

It was reported that there was rumour that tanker drivers in the state were about to go on strike making some stations to begin to hoard their fuel.
According to reports, there was a long queue in a filling station in Tanke Oke-Odo area of the city as people waited to purchase fuel but the station was unwilling to sell. The queues were so long that they made vehicular movements in the area impossible.
Without notice, soldiers entered the filling station and began to sell fuel to motorist and people with keg free of charge.
Mr Abdulrasheed Olopade who is the factional chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria said the unavailability of fuel at NNPC in the western zone was the cause of the crisis as only Apapa depot was supplying fuel.
He urged the federal government to intervene in the situation.
It is a common practice in the country for filling stations to hoard fuel when there is the possibility of fuel scarcity. This is because the price increase with the huge demand although this practice is frowned at.
