The Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Joseph Offor, confirmed to our correspondent that the robbery is ongoing, but assured that some police officers were already on it.
He said: “yes, there is a robbery incident in Festac right now, but I cannot confirm anything else to you. Our men are on it, I can only talk more about it when the operation is over.”
There are conflicting reports in the robbery incident as it is unsure if the bank under attack is Diamond, Access or FCMB, as the residents have kept bringing up different versions of the incident.
Fresh reports also have it that a casualty has been recorded in the attack, while a resident confirmed that a mother and her daughter have been killed by stray bullets from the robbers’ gunshots, another simply said: “one casualty has been confirmed from Festac Robbery.”
One of the residents in the area claims officers of the Nigeria Police Force are yet to arrive the scene of the incident, over 45 minutes since the gunshots started.
