Daily Sun reports that the governor announced the gestures on Tuesday, October 13, during an interactive session he had with the physically-challenged people at the governor’s office. The meeting was part of the governor’s activities to mark his first year in office.
Fayose also promised that the state government would take over the treatment and upkeep of a 5-year-old Olumide Enoch, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
According to a statement issued by Idowu Adelusi, the governor’s chief press secretary, the employment opportunities will cut across different categories of people, including those with sight challenges, albinos, deaf and dumb.
Interactive session with physically-challenged people was part of the governor’s activities to mark his first year in office.
One of the beneficiaries of the employment programme, Ibitoye Helen, said that she graduated from the Ekiti State University in 2012 with a second class degree in English and Literary Studies. However, it was difficult to her to make both ends meet.
Meanwhile, Mrs Olumide, Enoch’s mother, said that the family had spent all its resources on taking care of the boy.
“You can see that I am shaking. This is a big support that I cannot fully appreciate with words. What the governor has done is like helping my family to survive. I pray that God will take our dear governor to higher level and be with him and his family,”she said.
Ojo Peters, the president of Physically-Challenged Persons Association in the state, noted what Fayose did was unprecedented in the history of the state.

Meanwhile, the First Lady of Ekiti state, Feyisetan Fayose, visited the State Specialist Hospital in Ikole Ekiti, where she paid medical bills of some indigent patients.
Apparently uncomfortable with the high number of women, who had just delivered new babies but could not pay their medical bills in the hospital, Mrs Fayose advised women to take precautionary measures to regulate the number of children they can take cater of, to avoid any negative effect on their lives.
She called on medical personnel to educate women on how to key into family planning process.
“The moment you are having three to four children, you should apply a break; so that you too can enjoy your life. God forbids that any adverse thing happens, who is going to take care of your children for you?” she added.
