3 NUJ Officials Die In Auto Crash

No fewer than three officials of the Nigerian Union of journalists (NUJ) lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident that occurred along Ilesa-Ibadan expressway last night.
The auto-crash involved journalists who were returning back to Lagos from a national programme of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Abuja.
They met their untimely death at the Ilesa area of the Ile-Ife-Ilesa expressway.
 Olatunde Ojenike, chairman of the FRCN Chapter of NUJ, Oyo State,  Alolphus Okwokwo from Lagos State chapter and Kafayat Odunsi of NTA were said to have lost their lives while 10 others sustained severe injuries.

The remains of the dead journalists have been deposited at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State.
 Osun State Chairman of NUJ, Mr. Abiodun Olalere, the State Secretary, Mr Bamigbola Gbolagunte and union's officials assisted in rushing the injured persons to the hospital for medical attention.
A statement signed by Olusegun Ilori, financial secretary also confirmed the story. The accident occurred at 7.00 pm last night
